About the Artist

Aurora is a quirky, fun loving, neurodivergent indie artist who loves vivid color, animals, nature, earth spirituality, and art. She is also one of the co-founders, and President of the non-profit organization 'Sacred Moon Grove', which is a community building and resource organization for the pagan community in Huntsville, AL and surrounding areas, and she is a tattoo artist at Atomic Tattoo and Piercing in Huntsville, AL.

She is an ordained minister, lvl 2 Usui Reiki practitioner; which she uses to heal pets, and reads the Elder Futhark Runes, and Tarot for clients. She does non-traditional henna by appointment!

Things you may not know about her: Aurora is a certified wilderness survival instructor for the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Her certification was received from the Wilderness Institute of Survival Education (W.I.S.E.) in Colorado through instructor Papa Bear Whitmore. The graduation came after an extensive course over several weeks which ended in an intense 3 day "camping trip" with no supplies aside from what would be taken on a hiking trip in order to test skills gained through the course.

In her spare time (what's that? haha!) she loves to camp, hike, and play games. Video games, Dungeons and Dragons, Board games, Card games...she enjoys the socialization with friends and the laughter and fun that can come from gaming with people! Her favorite games are Open World Survival Crafting games, but no matter how many she plays, she always returns to Ark: Survival Evolved (or now, Survival Ascended). What is the name "The Antlered Path" all about?

In her quest for spiritual connection, Aurora was repeatedly visited by a red haired woman with green eyes and antlers in her dreams. She never knew who this woman was, just that everything she learned from her in the dream, became a guiding message for her in her waking life. Occasionally the woman would appear with raven wings in addition to her antlers, but the thing that was most striking to her was the antlers and green eyes against the backdrop of wavy red hair. 

After years of searching for information about this mysterious figure, whether it was a shared connection with others, or something her own mind created to guide her through hard times, she found an article on a forum from a woman named Carolyn Wise. It was about a Goddess named Elen of the Ways. A red haired woman, with green eyes, and antlers. She was the "Opener of the ways", a goddess that could guide you through the trods of life, open hidden doors, and assist you on your path. 

Recently there has been a lot of controversy over whether or not Elen of the Ways ever existed, scholars pulling references and disproving statements from the ones who brought her into the world's eye... 

Aurora has been working with the energy of this goddess since the late 1990's. She may not be a historically accurate "Elen of the Ways" according to the information provided by modern scholars, but what is real is the connection hundreds if not thousands of people feel to this antlered goddess, regardless of what her name is. For us, those who are priestesses of Elen... She is Elen of the Ways, and she is as real to us as you are. 

The Antlered Path is the path of Elen of the Ways. It is following her lead, listening to the wisdom she imparts, and working towards healing. It is a path lead by the Antlered Goddess, who guides and assists us in our lives, and when we walk with her, we find healing, and understanding. 

The Antlered Path is creativity. It is connection to the divine creation and expression of the higher self. 

The Antlered Path is ancestry. It connects us to our ancestors, those who have walked the path before us, and imparts their wisdom.

Aurora's Artistic Goals:

The goals Aurora has set with her artwork are to spread the joy she sees in the world, remind people to connect with their spirituality in whatever form that may be, honor her ancestors, and to express her own spirituality. She is also passionate about expressing her mental health and disability struggles so that her healing journey may help and inspire others as well.
